Our staff are by far our most valuable asset
We consider our staff to be the greatest success factor for providing cutting-edge Early Childhood Education. It is they who live out our ethos and develop the supportive relationships required to guide our young children, day-in day-out, on their crucial ‘whole child’ development journeys.Individualised approach
Our teachers, with strong support from our teaching assistants, look at each pupil in our care to see what makes them tick and then plan how to deliver our curriculum in an exciting way according to these specific interests.
Their in-depth knowledge of each child also enables them to successfully seize on any opportunities for intervention and positive influence, in line with the developmental sensitivity periods through which each child goes in their very own, individual way.
Long-standing Senior Leadership team
Herne Hill School is overseen by a long-standing Senior Leadership Team comprised of:
- the Director, Mr Dominik Magyar, who has actively guided the school’s evolution since taking over from Herne Hill School’s founders in 2002;
- the Headteacher, Mrs Ngaire Telford, who has been involved with the school since 2001 and was appointed Head in 2015;
- the Bursar, Mrs Anne Thompson, who has continuously held this post since 2003.
As the Headteacher in charge of all curriculum and teaching matters, Mrs Telford is supported at each curriculum stage by one of our highly experienced teachers: Natalie Sweilam (Head of Kindergarten), Beth Hanham (Reception Cycle Lead) and Dominic Aquilina (Key Stage 1 Lead).
All other teachers also assume important additional leadership and coordinator roles.
