There are three main points of entry into the school, in the autumn term of each academic year:
- Kindergarten: For children turning 3 years old during the academic year (e.g., for children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 for entry in autumn 2022). Subject to availability, early joining is possible from the term after a child has turned 2 years old (e.g., children born between 1 September and 31 December 2019 can join from January 2022, and children born between 1 January and 30 April 2020 can join from the summer term 2022, after Easter). Kindergarten operates at 99 Herne Hill and is by far the largest entry point.
- Pre-Reception: For children turning 4 years old during the academic year, at our main site.
- Reception: For children turning 5 years old, at our main site.
The registration deadlines and approximate assessment periods are as follows:
|Entry point||Registration deadline||Assessment|
|Kindergarten||6 weeks prior to the start of the potential term of entry||Varies, depending on the potential term of entry|
|Reception||30 November||November – January|
If these deadlines are missed, late registrations can still be accepted and individual assessment visits organised as long as chance vacancies are still available. Year 1 and Year 2 chance vacancies are also offered following an individual assessment.
Since the date of registration plays an important role in our entry procedures, we highly recommend parents that for their peace of mind they register their child as soon as they consider the possibility of applying for a place – however far in the future this may appear.
