Autumn 2026 Pre-Prep bursaries
In order to help some families afford a Pre-Prep education at Herne Hill School, we have made available a small number of autumn 2026 Pre-Prep bursary places. They are means tested and reserved for families who are demonstrably only considering state schools for autumn 2026 Reception. The granted fees remission will be valid for the duration of the child attending Herne Hill School’s Pre-Prep, i.e. up to three years (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2).
If this is applicable to your circumstances, please contact our Bursar Anne Thompson for further information. She can then also send an application form, which must be submitted before a potential invitation for the child’s assessment visit.
Payment options for 2025-26 Fees
Bank transfer (termly)
Fees must be paid on or before the first day of term by bank transfer to:
HSBC Bank plc
Account No 31534076
Sort Code 40-07-13
Please quote the reference of the account for identification purposes.
Direct Debit (termly)
Parents can pay the termly fees as invoiced by the School by direct debit on the first day of term. The amount and the date of debit will be confirmed beforehand. Once established, the Direct Debit Mandate can be kept open in subsequent years for the duration of the child’s time at Herne Hill School, thereby avoiding paperwork. This is a hassle-free method of always paying on time, at the last possible date, without incurring any fees.
Parents wishing to pay using this option must complete the appropriate Direct Debit Mandate (one for each pupil where appropriate) and the enclosed form “Application to Pay School Fees by Termly Direct Debit”.
Direct Debit (monthly)
In line with regulations by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the School is not able to accept monthly direct debit payments directly from parents. However, there is a facility through third party credit providers regulated by the FCA which does enable parents to pay by monthly direct debit.
Childcare vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare
We accept payment from accounts parents may have set under the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme as well as childcare vouchers from most providers.
Payments from either option can be used for tuition fees in Kindergarten, Pre-Reception and Reception. They can also be used for wrap-around care across all year groups including Years 1 and 2. For more information about these options, please visit https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk.
We do not participate in the 15 or 30 hours free childcare scheme for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
For Pre-Prep only: Annual payment in advance (by bank transfer)
The entire year’s fees can be paid in advance by multiplying the termly fees of £7,950 by three and deducting a discount of £450 (i.e., £23,400). Fees must be paid by Monday 1 September 2025 by bank transfer to HSBC Bank plc, Account No 31534076, Sort Code 40-07-13, quoting the reference of the account for identification purposes. Fees for terms not attended are fully refundable as long as the appropriate notice of withdrawal is given (but the early payment discount of £450 becomes due if the pupil does not attend the full year).
Any queries relating to fee accounts, or payments thereof, should be addressed to the Bursar, Anne Thompson ([email protected]).
